The Quest for Skinny Erika Week 16

There was a time, not too long ago, that I was posting pictures every other week of my embiggening preggers belly. And now I’m posting pictures of my shrinking belly. Funny how goals change depending on where you’re at in life.

As of this week I’m officially in the 170’s. Weighing in at 179.6 lbs means I’m less than ten pounds away from my goal weight, which I think is just bananas. When I decided on 170 as my goal weight, I thought it was a nonsense number.

I can’t ever remember being that weight, and now I’m within spitting distance of it? What the WHAT?!

I don’t have high hopes for this upcoming week of weight loss, though. I injured my knee late last week, then caught a nasty cold, so I haven’t exercised much. I feel like a huge slacker, but it’s not like I licked the sink at a public restroom to catch this cold, is it?

That’s rather a gross example. Please forgive me.

Anyway, let’s celebrate this week’s weight loss and just pretend next week’s weigh-in is a figment of my imagination! Especially since tomorrow is my birthday! And birthdays means YUM!

If you’re so inclined, please check out my post for Fitness Together Sammamish. I talk about choosing a weight loss plan that works as a sustainable lifestyle. It helps, I promise!

  1. Look at you! You’ve shrunk! No more booty! Well, just the right amount of booty. Way to go! Has your trainer helped you set an ultimate goal weight based on like body fat percentage etc, or did you just choose 170 as a “wow, that sounds crazy” number.
I picked my goal weight based on just an arbitrary number, and now that I’m more fit, I’m having my trainer evaluate my body fat percentage and tell me what my ultimate goal for healthy weight should be! I’d be interested to see what your trainer says?

  2. -Jennifer, My trainers picked the weight based on BMI. 170 would actually be at the high side of normal for my BMI, which I know isn’t the best way to calculate healthy weight. I like the way I look, though, and think 170 is a good enough goal. I’m sure they’ll recalculate my body fat percentage when I’m done, though, to see if I’m really done. I’ll let you know what they say!

  3. Wow! Look at you all skinny and stuff.

Do you feel skinnier or do you see the same old Erika looking back in the mirror?

Enjoy your cake and icing (cupcake form, perhaps), you deserve it!

  4. -Blanche, I see same old Erika looking back at me in the mirror, but when I look at pictures of chubby Erika I think she looks chubby. Also, none of my pants fit, and I feel like it’s because they are all stretched out, not because I’m smaller. I’m a weirdo.

  5. I hope that you are enjoying feeling the transformation as much as seeing it (doing planks is easier, running etc.)

But well done, slow and steady wins the race!

  6. -Kelly O., Thank you! Just don’t let that make you feel bad, I’m currently riding solo if you know what I mean ;)

-stef, Definitely feeling the transition! I feel lighter, like when I jump around because I’m excited about something, it’s easier to do than before. Thanks for the encouragement!

  7. Eeww! that example was really gross :( Heheh, But look at you – you look all sexyy!! :) Congratualations on another successful week at training!

  8. -G, Heeheehee, right after I typed it I was like, “That might be a bit much…” but I decided to include it anyway. Thanks for the congrats!
