The Quest for Skinny Erika Week 4

Check it out: It’s the incredible shrinking woman!

Just kidding, I’m not shrinking I’m…imploding? Condensing and firming like a good custard?

However you choose to phrase it, those are some results right there! The top row is week one, bottom row is week four. My latest blog is up on the Fitness Together Sammamish blog, check it out here!

For those who don’t feel like making the jump, I’m down to 202 lbs. I lost 1.6 lbs. last week and I’m down 5 lbs. total! Considering I weighed in at 217 lbs. at the beginning of January, I’d say I’m doing pretty well.

My fervent hope is to drop below 200 lbs. in the next two weeks. I’d be tickled pink to be in the 190’s by the end of March. I was 192 lbs. when I got pregnant, but my first-stage goal is to get to 185 lbs. That’s still considered overweight for BMI purposes (according to the BMI, I should be 170 lbs.), but we’ll see how I look at 185 and re-evaluate.

Man, just the thought that I could be below 200 lbs. in the next couple weeks makes me feel all fluttery and excited. It’s a pretty short leap-and-hop from 200 to 185, and I can say with confidence that I haven’t been 185 lbs. since before I got married.

There’s just something about making real progress and seeing my goal creep closer and closer that is so exciting!

  1. Wonderful progress. You look great! It’s a long road but just remember that the longer it takes to lose the weight, the more it is truly “gone.” (I just made that up, don’t know if it’s true or not but it makes an intuitive sense.) Keep going.

  2. -Working Girl, Aww thanks! It does make intuitive sense, with the added benefit of making me feel good about the slow losing process!

-G, Thanks! I have a calorie counting app on my phone. Every time I eat something I enter it into the app and it tells me how many calories are in it, and how many I’ve already eaten that day. It’s been very helpful!

  3. Erika you are doing wonderfully! You get all whipped into shape and when I come visit we’ll go hike Little Si! Or sit and eat. You can choose. :-) Maybe just take our kids to the zoo..

You’ll be amazed at how you get motivated to keep going when you reach your goals. Bring on 185!

  4. Jennifer, Thank you! Taking the boys to the zoo would be workout enough, I think. There’s so much walking to be done there!
